Meditation Circuit

Whittemore Meditation Walk The meditation walk is a 2.5 mile, five station circuit, through the beautiful trails of the 180 Acre Whittemore CCC. Each location along the way will feature seating areas designed by artist David Horowitz and guided audio meditations presented by Carl Klemme, accessible via. UPC code or downloadable through a web link. The walk continues down the long grassy way through a stand of pines and around the bend of the Tree Stump Hill trail, to a vista above a babbling spring fed brook. This site has an elevated view over the stream and low-lying meadows and is nurtured by the soft sound of the dancing water. The journey continues over the brook, up the hill and down to a spectacular hill side, perched above a bend in the Rockaway Creek. This captivating lookout sits on the Rolling River Trail with views at once up and down stream. (Sponsored by Restaurant Village Hospitality Group) Our adventure continues alongside the beautiful clear waters of the creek for a good stretch before is turns up the Pinecone Passage. Here, positioned in an opening amongst the tall pines is our fourth sitting area. The view here is down into the bright green meadows that roll peacefully toward the creeks edge. We finish our experience in the bright sunny field, circumscribed by the Blue Bird Flight trail. Here you can watch the wind trace waves through the tall grasses while bathing in suns warmth. There is a nice stretch of trail back to parking area, where we began. It is there that you will find your senses alive and your mind quiet and clear. You’ll take home the spirit of nature and some tips and techniques for meditation and mindfulness that will continue to support you. -Carl Klemme, Director of Wellness
