THE GARDENS

2020 Community Gardens
2020 Community Gardens
2024 Community Gardens

Our Community Garden have reinforced animal proof split rail fence with a beautiful custom gate for an entrance. The garden is divided into sixteen 10’ x 10’ semi-raised plot, mulched walkways and in-ground timed watering system. Local residents may secure one or more plots to grow their own produce and/or flowers.  The gardeners will follow organic gardening practices.  Each gardener will be responsible for planting, maintaining and harvesting their own plots.

Emily McCollum, Steward of the Gardens, will be leading our Seed Starting Workshop and will be available to answer your questions about gardening throughout the season. Having a Garden Plot allows you FREE admittance to all our Gardening Workshops.

Once registered, your plot will be available March 9th and assigned to you at our Heirloom Seed Starting lecture, that day. Register Below. If you cannot make the lecture you will be informed via email the location of your plot. We hope to have a Welcome Gardeners Event sometime in late April, early May - weather dependent - no worries you will get an email.

10x10 ft plots; $50 FOW Members, $75 Non-Members.

They will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis with Friends of Whittemore Members getting first priority. The application and other necessary forms are available for download here. You may return the completed application via email.
