Our Community Garden is thoughtfully designed to support and inspire gardeners of all experience levels. The garden features a reinforced, animal-proof split-rail fence with a beautiful custom entrance gate. Inside, the space is divided into sixteen semi-raised 10’ x 10’ plots, complete with mulched walkways and an in-ground, timed watering system for ease and efficiency.
Local residents are invited to reserve one or more plots to grow their own produce and/or flowers. All gardeners are expected to follow organic gardening practices and are responsible for planting, maintaining, and harvesting their own plots throughout the season.
Emily McCollum, Steward of the Gardens, kicks off the season with our popular Organic Heirloom Seed Starting Workshop and is available throughout the growing season to answer gardening questions and offer guidance. Garden Plot holders receive FREE admission to all Whittemore Gardening Workshops and are invited to our Organic Heirloom Plant Sale in May.
Once registered, plots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, with Friends of Whittemore Members receiving priority placement. Plots will be available beginning in March, and assignments will be confirmed via email.
Plot Pricing (10’ x 10’):
-
$50 – Friends of Whittemore Members
-
$75 – Non-Members
