About The Event

Join us at WhittemoreCCC as we continue with our unique wellness offerings.

Forest bathing allows you to slow down and reconnect with nature, calming your mind and lifting your spirit.

“The song you heard singing in the leaf when you were a child is singing still.” - Mary Oliver

Take 2.5 hours to unplug, unwind, and discover forest bathing on the lovely grounds at Whittemore CCC amid the vibrant green foliage. This experience is a slow, mindful walk with several open-ended invitations led by a certified Forest Therapy guide that invites participants to use all of their senses to connect with the natural world uniquely.

The walk will conclude with a tea ceremony and light snacks.

For more information about forest bathing or forest therapy and its many potential physical and mental health benefits, check out the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy’s website.

Join Linda Brown-Kuhn's at WhittemoreCCC as she takes you though an experience like no other.

Linda is a certified Forest Therapy Guide who wants to share her belief that spending time in nature in a slow, relaxed way with an open heart and open senses can boost well-being in our bodies and minds.

A long-time resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, Linda worked in Manhattan as a magazine writer and then in NJ as a freelance writer, specializing in health and environmental topics. She returned to college in 2014 to become a Registered Horticultural Therapist through Rutgers University. She has worked with Veterans at the Lyons and East Orange VA Medical Centers, teaching them about plants and gardening for their physical and mental health. She also works at the Center for Great Expectations in Somerset where women with young children are dealing with substance use issues.

She earned her certificate as a Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy in July 2022 and has led walks at the Ironbound Farm and Ciderhouse in Asbury.
