Garden Concert - Joe Grillo

Lead singer, saxophonist, and front man for the New Orleans inspired recording artists, The Gumbo Gumbas, Joe Grillo, will be appearing on Thursday September 3rd for Friends of Whittemore.  Joe will be performing his new release “Back to NOLA” as a solo artist and entertain his audience with a new style of music called Zydeland. Zydeland is “A delicious medley of authentic New Orleans Spaghetti Jazz with a side of Creole. The music is a perfect synergy of Zydeco, Dixieland, Blues and Swamp Funk. This is music that will make you happy and want to jump for joy. The influences come from the city that started it all in American music, New Orleans and blend the elements of jazz, Zydeco, R&B, country and rock into a big old fashioned southern stew. Our mission is to spread the vibe of NOLA up to the north.

All the songs tell interesting stories and Joe will be telling quite a few of them in-between numbers as he communicates with his audience of tales that have inspired his compositions.
