Discover the fascinating world of honey bees in this hands-on Introduction to Beekeeping class designed for ages 13 and up. Attendees will learn the basics of honey bee biology, hive structure, and the important role bees play in our local ecosystems and agriculture. The class covers essential beekeeping topics such as equipment costs, seasonal hive management, safety, and New Jersey–specific regulations, making it a great starting point for anyone curious about keeping bees or simply wanting to understand them better.


Participants will also get a practical overview of what it takes to start and maintain a healthy hive, including responsible bee stewardship and common challenges faced by beekeepers in our region.
