About The Event
Celebrating your Health continues in September at Whittemore - Community, Culture & Conservation
Join us to connect with fellow members of our community over coffee & tea, learn insights on specific health topics from our nutritionist, and listen to guest speakers while they educate us on their field of practice. In addition to the Wellness Salon which will meet monthly on Saturday mornings, we will be offering special programs on a variety of healing methods. Our mission is to expand awareness to our community on health and healing modalities that are available to support our body, mind and spirit. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to learn and grow with us!
Leslie Weinman MS, CNS, LDN, CHC - Functional Nutritionist and WhittemoreCCC Salon Coordinator, invites you to our latest Wellness Salon.
September's Guest Speaker:
Arden Martin, Co-Founder + Teacher The Spring Meditation
Join us to learn why meditation doesn't have to involve focus and concentration, but can actually be restful for both your mind and body. You'll also learn about the effortless technique of Vedic Meditation and how it can awaken more peace, clarity, and happiness in your life. Whether or not you already practice, this session will deepen your understanding of meditation and help you feel less intimidated by it.
Leslie will talk to Cardiovascular Health:
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US and has been since the 1950s. What can you do about it? Prevention is our best medicine. Learn the latest research in heart disease and how you can be proactive with your heart health.
"I’m Leslie Weinman, functional nutritionist and clinical herbalist. I am very excited to be leading (coordinating) the Wellness Salon and helping to support our community with their health. In my practice I always look to find the root cause of any imbalance in order to give the body the nourishment it needs through diet, lifestyle and herbal medicine. The body will naturally heal itself when given the proper support. I look forward to meeting you!"
