Spring Equinox Meditation Walk Saturday

Welcome the first days of spring with a leisurely walk to witness the intricate changes in the seasons. Witness the swelling buds, bird songs, smell of the air, animals emerging, and other signs that spring has arrived. It is called the equinox because it’s one of two days in the year when daylight and darkness agree to share equally the 24 hours in a day. Celebrate this equinox as we walk through the trails of Whittemore - Community, Culture & Conservation with our guide Carl Klemme.

This 90 minute walking and meditation experience will cover a number of miles throughout the Whittemore trails with meditations interspersed throughout the hike. A number of different meditation techniques will be taught, practiced at various locations along the way, including fields, forest and stream side. Practicing meditation in nature is an effective way to both quite and clear the mind and also experience the environment in a deep and connective way. 

No prior experience is necessary for this program, for ALL Age levels.

Please dress appropriately (for the weather - layers are the best) and wear the proper hiking shoes - the trails can be very muddy if it has rained/snowed.

MEETING POINT - Whittemore MEADOWS - across the street from Whittemore, right off Rockaway Road, 

large parking lot by big Meadow.

This is open to all, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and we have only 20 spots.

Children 12 and under are FREE - registration required.

WCCC Guidelines:

- All events require registration.

- We have outdoor bathrooms if needed.

- Please bring your own handwipes, waterbottles.

- If you have not been feeling well we ask that you not attend.
