Jason O’Brien is a NYC area percussionist and educator, who maintains an active gigging schedule, YoutTube Channel, and studio of over 30 students. He is an adjunct professor at Passaic County Community College and has been invited to be an artist in residence at Independence Community College in Kansas for the fall semester. This summer he won the inaugural 2020 DCI Performers Showcase All Age Division on marimba.
Additionally, he arranges and designs productions for award winning East Coast marching ensembles. His arrangements captured the 2020 New England Regional and Connecticut State Division Championships. Recent projects include recording his own unique vibraphone and glockenspiel arrangements of Christmas music, Kabalevsky piano pieces and other non-traditional vibraphone compositions. As an active member of the Charu Suri Trio Jay has recorded three albums, performed at Carnegie Hall, will return there this summer, and has traveled to Miami.
