About The Event

Welcome the first days of summer with a leisurely walk to witness the intricate changes in the seasons. Witness the flowers blooming, bird songs, smell of the air, animals emerging, and other signs that summer is here!

"This solstice marks the official beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, occurring when Earth arrives at the point in its orbit where the North Pole is at its maximum tilt (about 23.5 degrees) toward the Sun, resulting in the longest day and shortest night of the calendar year. (By longest “day,” we mean the longest period of sunlight hours.)"

Celebrate this solstice as we walk through the trails of Whittemore - Community, Culture & Conservation with our guide Carl Klemme.

This 90 minute walking and meditation experience will cover a number of miles throughout the Whittemore trails with meditations interspersed throughout the hike. A number of different meditation techniques will be taught, practiced at various locations along the way, including fields, forest and stream side. Practicing meditation in nature is an effective way to both quite and clear the mind and also experience the environment in a deep and connective way.

No prior experience is necessary for this program, for ALL Age levels.

Please dress appropriately and wear the proper hiking shoes - the trails can be very muddy if it has rained.
