Transcendental Vinyl

We are very excited to be presenting our first session of Transcendent Vinyl featuring "Kind Of Blue". This Miles Davis masterpiece is regarded by many to be, unequivocally, the greatest jazz record of all time. The recording features John Coltrane and "Cannonball" Adderly on saxophone, Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly playing piano, Paul Chambers on Bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums. Recorded in just two sessions, one per side, with all but one track 'first takes', Kind of Blue is the sound of brilliant simplicity. Miles brought few notes to the sessions and having only offered the players a few cues on what not to play, the group improvised in basic scales and modes. Miles signature sound, and the sparse rich dark chords of Bill Evans piano provide the essential palate that John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball Adderley solo on for a majority of the tracks.
